A Tale

Once upon a time there was a little 6 year old Filipino girl who learned to cook rice. It might sound a bit weird but so began my passion for cooking. I grew up under poorer conditions. Unfortunately we didn't have day care centres nor after school care centres like here in the West. So me and my siblings had to take care of each other when our parents were out on the rice fields working. One of the daily tasks my elder brothers had was to cook the rice before mom and dad came home for dinner. Then it was just for mom and dad to cook the fish, meat or whatever they came home with. My very clever brothers figured out that if they taught me to cook rice they could make me do it instead  and they would have more time for games. Of course, I was not allowed to tell our parents! But I was fine with that. Even as a child I enjoyed being in the kitchen. Need I say I became an expert at cooking rice!
At 8 years of age I was adopted by my Swedish father and in addition to that I got a Swedish grandma (R.I.P grandma) who was and IS my great inspiration in terms of food. She taught me all the basics about food and gave me recipes that has been taught in her family for generations. Grandma's passion for cooking and respect for good food products rubbed of on me.
In this blog you will find my food pictures, inspirations, recipes, cooking, wine and restaurant tips etc, etc... S
imply everything to do with food!
